After confessing in what way they had sinned against the Lord, He was then to bring a guilt offering to the Lord to atone for his sin. The offender was to bring either a goat or a lamb. To show Gods grace in reaching people low income, who couldn't afford a spotless lamb or goat. God made provision for them by allowing them to bring 2 turtle doves or 2 young pigeons. The blood of the pigeons would make atonement for the persons sin and they would be forgiven.. Even so God made even exceptions to the rule only if one couldn't afford 2 pigeons. In these circumstances one was allowed to bring a 1/10 of an alpha of fine flour. One must bring it to the Priest and he will burn it on the altar and it will make atonement for the sin he has committed, and he will be forgiven. Hence no one was kept from making sacrifice for their sin because of their social and financial status. Such is the grace of God.

Sinning with a high hand

Even so there were transgressions where one couldn't offer sacrifice for ones sins. These are what are called Capital offences such as Murder, Adultery, Bestiality, Homosexuality, Kidnapping etc. For these sins there was no recourse to the sacrificial system. What would atone for their crimes if they were at all repentant, was their death. These crimes were seen as sinning with a high hand against God. These sins were in every sense deliberate. What we must at all times remember is the context that Israel were living in the "kingdom of God" They were Go d's delivered people in Go d's land under His rule. They were to be like their God , holy and blameless. The fact that sacrifice could not be offered for such sins doesn't mean that such persons had no access to salvation. If they did not repent toward God they could not be saved. In the same breath a person who didn't commit Capital offences and had access to the sacrificial system who also didn't repent and put their faith in God also could not be saved. Let us look at 2 Kings of Israel who sinned with a high hand against God. David and Man ass ah. David committed murder and adultery and under the law should have died. But he truly repented and God had mercy on him. Man ass ah in the same vein continued in years of worshipping other Go d's but humbled himself beneath the True God and God mercy on him even though he had sinned with a high hand against God. So Go d's grace did extend to sinning against Him with a High hand. Though because they were Kings in Israel they weren't publicly stoned. The ordinary people would almost certainly be Put to death. But it didn't mean if the person repented toward God that he couldn't be saved. Yes they could be saved but still had to be put to death. Yet we must take this warning seriously as Hebrews 10:26 warns us ,that if we continue to sin deliberately, after receiving the knowledge of the truth there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful prospect of judgement, and a fury fire which will consume the enemies of God. So sinning with a high hand against God is the same as deliberate sin. It also carries with it, the attitude of rebellion, a to hell with you attitude. A clenching of ones fist in the face, is an act of defiance which shows you to be an enemy of God and not a son. These are people in our midst who we have accepted as fellow Christians, but when tested show that they are not. 1 John 2. 18,19 says "their going out from among us, shows they are not of us, for if they had been of us they would have continued with us. But their going out from us, makes it plain they are not of us.
