| Now vs 29 talks about what happens IMMEDIATELY after that tribulations. Remember what I said about thinking historically, the bible here is interpreting events historically. These events are interpreted as the return of Yeshua in our day. But we need to see if that is really so. Please don't freak out just bear with me . Of course I believe in the glorious physical return of Yeshua. I'm just saying this is about something else, because the bible says this will happen immediately after the tribulations that Jesus is speaking of. Firstly lets look at how the language is used in the Old Testament. The Jew didn't automatically understand the sun been darkened and the moon not giving its light and stars falling from heaven as the end of the world. Lets see how this exact same language is used in Isaiah 13:10 . If taken in its context from vs 9-22 it is about Judgement and overthrow of the Babylonian Kingdom, not the end of the world. So it is language that describes the end of a Kingdom. Again in Ezekiel 32:7 the exact same language of the sun being darkened etc. is used but again it is not about the end of the world, rather it is about the end of the Egyptian Kingdom.. The language of the sun been darkened etc. is "metaphoric". It uses cosmic language to describe Gods judgement of, and the end of a Kingdom. PLEASE READ THESE VERSES IN ISAIAH AND EZEKIEL SO YOU CAN SEE IT FOR YOURSELF. I believe this language is used of the end of the Kingdom of Israel, under Gods judgement. This language is used in vs 29 of what happens immediatly after the tribulation. Soo If it happened immediatly afterward it can't be speaking of the return of Christ. Then it gets even more interesting. It talks of the sign of the Son of man in heaven..... They will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Here again we need to get into the Hebrew mind. The son of man is a title given to the Messiah. The son of man to the Jews who read Daniel was the Messiah who would be the ruler of the Nations. But again when we go to Daniel 7 where this scene is pictured as the verse 30 in Matthew 24. In Daniel 7 vs 13....We find that this whole scene is played out in heaven. The picture is not of Messiah coming down to the earth, rather it is Messiah moving on the clouds of heaven toward the Ancient of days . The Son of man is moving toward the Ancient of days in Heaven and is not coming down to the earth from out of heaven. Now I don't expect you to understand these thing all at once as it took me a long time to understand this, myself. So lets see whats going on in Daniel 7. In the CONTEXT of Daniel 7 the Beasts all represent wicked Kingdoms so it would not be out of place for the Messiah who is righteous to represent the Israel of God who belong to the righteous Kingdom. The wicked Kingdom of Israel has fallen by Gods judgement for rejecting the Messiah. But the righteous people of Israel are the people of the King (Christ) who believed Jesus' words about the destruction that would fall on Israel. By believing they all escaped to a town on the coast and were saved from Gods wrath. So Yeshua is vindicated as a true prophet of God, because what he spoke came to pass. So what we are witnessing in Daniel 7 is the vindication of the Christ who represents His people who are the true Israel of God. The people of the Kingdom, the believing Israelites. They are the people of the righteous Kingdom. This is what is going on here.!!!!! . |
